How should legislators understand the role of Bitcoin in maintaining U.S. national security?
An important aspect of Bitcoin mining in maintaining national security is that a sufficient amount of hashing power (the work of Bitcoin miners) should be located in the United States. This way, foreign governments cannot exert influence on Bitcoin and allows the United States to protect its Bitcoin investments.
How should the U.S. government set the tone for global Bitcoin regulation and adoption?
Today, the United States is doing a good job in formulating very clear legislation and regulations around stablecoins and different types of crypto assets. Bitcoin was identified as a commodity a long time ago; it is not subject to centralized control and is independent. The rest of the world needs to understand that legislation and regulation of Bitcoin need to be more open and inclusive, just like in the United States.
How should U.S. energy policy evolve to meet the growing demands of high-density data infrastructure such as AI/HPC?
What's interesting about U.S. infrastructure is that, according to a recent report from Duke University, if flexible loads are adopted, they will be sufficient to meet the needs of the artificial intelligence and high-performance computing industries in the next few years. Flexible load simply means that they can turn computing on and off at will, but unfortunately, they cannot do this. However, when you combine flexible loads with Bitcoin mining, you get the best of both worlds. Therefore, we believe that when formulating energy policy regulations, it is crucial to incentivize AI/HPC companies to cooperate with Bitcoin mining companies to create balanced and flexible base load demands.
What makes Bitcoin mining such an attractive scaling solution when policymakers plan for AI energy needs?
The advantage of Bitcoin mining is that it can usually be deployed quickly. We built a 240-megawatt data center in the UAE in less than 13 months. The construction time of a typical artificial intelligence data center is much longer. Therefore, you can easily deploy a Bitcoin mining data center and transfer the energy load to AI/HPC over time.
Our advantage is that we don't need to build buildings. We are fully containerized and completely modular; we can pick up and leave.
