Miami, Florida, August 25, 2025 – MARA Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA) (“MARA” or the “Company”), a leading digital energy and infrastructure company, today announced further expansion of its European operations. MARA has appointed Gérard Mestrallet as Senior Advisor and François Garcin as General Manager, Europe. The Company also announced the establishment of Paris, France, as its new European headquarters. These moves mark significant milestones in MARA’s international growth strategy and position the Company at the heart of the European energy ecosystem.

Méstrallet is a highly respected European business leader with a decades-long career in global energy and infrastructure, including over 20 years as Chairman and CEO of ENGIE. He was appointed Special Envoy for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor by French President Emmanuel Macron and advises French and European governments on energy and industrial policy. Mestrallet has served on the boards of Siemens, Saudi Electricity Company, Saint-Gobain, AXA, Société Générale, and Crédit Agricole. He was a member of JPMorgan Chase's International Advisory Board and Chairman of the Association des Marchés Financiers Européennes in Paris. Mestrallet is widely recognized for his significant role in shaping Europe's energy infrastructure over the past three decades.

Since joining MARA in July of this year, Garcin has spearheaded the formation of MARA France and MARA Europe and played a key role in facilitating the company's recent investment agreement with Exaion. As Managing Director for Europe, Garcin will oversee MARA's European operations from its new headquarters in Paris, France, and focus on establishing new joint ventures with leading European energy companies. Garcin has over 20 years of experience in finance and technology, having completed multi-million dollar transactions in the United States, Europe, and Asia. As founder of Argenthal Holdings, a boutique financial advisory and investment firm, he led high-profile technology investments and transactions with clients and co-investors including JPMorgan Asset Management, Korelya Capital, and Mercato Partners, focusing primarily on AI/HPC, cybersecurity, and blockchain.
